Verification Procedures

Licenses do not need to be current to qualify for credit. However, whether the license is current may affect how a student will be able to obtain official documentation:

• Students with current licenses should be able to verify the license online through the Division of Licensing Services website and submit a screenshot or pdf to admissions@sunyempire.edu.
• If online verification is not possible, students may be eligible for this credit if they can provide 3rd party documentation of the expired license by contacting the Division of Licensing Services at Licensing@dos.ny.gov.

The Division of Licensing Services follows a scheduled rate of destruction of documents (generally 6 years). If a student is unable to obtain verification because records have been destroyed, they are encouraged to apply for individualized prior learning assessment for this credit.

Evaluation Info

This evaluation applies to exams completed during a specific time frame. Refer to the "Begin" and/or "End" dates listed above the credit recommendation for details. Please note that credit recommendations and minimum acceptable scores may be different for other time frames.

The information contained in this equivalency is unofficial. Eligibility for this credit must be confirmed directly with the SUNY Empire Office of the Registrar.

Documentation

Students must have official documentation on file with the university to be eligible for credit. PLEASE NOTE: To be considered official, the source institution (specified in the verification procedures on the left) must send documentation directly to Empire State University.
