Verification Procedures:
In order for students to receive credit for the OPWDD New Employee Orientation, they must provide an official certified transcript from OPWDD confirming the employee’s successful completion of the New Employee Orientation.
Description:
The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) provides services and supports to individuals with a wide range of developmental disabilities including intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Prader-Willi syndrome, and other neurological impairments. It provides services directly and through a network of approximately 500 nonprofit service providing agencies, with about 80 percent of services provided by the private nonprofits and 20 percent provided by state-run services
This review encompasses the New Employee Orientation training that New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities complete within the first few weeks of employment. Evaluation of this orientation program only applies to individuals working at OPWDD facilities.

This evaluation applies to exams completed during a specific time frame. Refer to the "Begin" and/or "End" dates listed above the credit recommendation for details. Please note that credit recommendations and minimum acceptable scores may be different for other time frames.
