Verification Procedures
Certification must be current to qualify for credit. Verification procedures vary based on whether certification is from the NYS Department of Health or from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians:
- Students who have current New York State certification can complete and sign the verification of NYS Certification form.
- Students who have current national certification can verify the credential on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians website and submit a screenshot to the SUNY Empire Admissions office.
Students who are eligible for recertification credits should submit a copy of their previous EMS card in addition to the verification of their current status.

This evaluation applies to exams completed during a specific time frame. Refer to the "Begin" and/or "End" dates listed above the credit recommendation for details. Please note that credit recommendations and minimum acceptable scores may be different for other time frames.
